Characters

Dhwani Parekh: - Dhwani is twenty-one years old quiet, observant, and wrapped in a silence that the world mistakes for muteness. But she is not truly mute. Five years ago, the accident that took her parents... that trauma stole her voice. Not physically, but emotionally. The trauma buried her words so deep that she chose silence over pain. Since then, she hasn't spoken. Silence became her shield, her comfort, her way of surviving. Though she rarely expresses herself verbally, her honey-brown eyes speak volumes. Sensitive yet strong, Dhwani feels everything deeply.

Where words fail, colours speak for her. Painting is not just her passion it is her therapy, her escape, her identity. Every canvas holds the emotions she cannot say aloud. Her biggest dream is to turn her passion into her profession and open her own painting academy a space where art heals and silence is understood.

Shlok Kulkarni: - Shlok is twenty-eight years old sharp-minded, disciplined, and already a respected Advocate. Groomed under his grandfather's guidance, he is soon to become the CEO of the family's prestigious law firm he believes in logic, clarity, and conversations that leave no room for confusion. Words are his strongest weapon, both inside and outside the courtroom. At first, he didn't like Dhwani. Not because he hated her.

But because she never spoke to him. Whenever he tried to initiate even a simple conversation, she would respond only with quiet glances. To him, it felt like indifference. Like she was deliberately ignoring him. And Shlok, being someone who values direct communication, mistook her silence for arrogance or avoidance. He didn't know... that Dhwani wasn't choosing to ignore him.

She simply didn't speak. Unaware of the trauma that silenced her, Shlok formed his own assumptions. And in doing so, he unknowingly built a wall between them a wall made of misunderstanding rather than dislike.

Love...

It used to be a word I could say without fear. Now it lives only inside me, unspoken, unheard, but painfully alive. Sometimes I wonder if love truly needs a voice. Can't it exist in glances, in silent understanding, in the way a heart reacts without permission? And then there is Shlok. I don't know when my feelings began to shift. Maybe it was in the small things, the way his eyes soften when he forgets to guard them, the way his presence changes the air around me. He may never see it. How could he hear what I cannot say? Yet my heart still dares to hope. Not for dramatic confessions. Not for perfect romance. Just for one thing. That one day, he won't see my silence as a limitation... but as a part of me worth loving.

~Shlok

I always believed love was built on conversations. Late-night talks, shared laughter, words that bridge distances. Love, to me, had a sound, a voice, a rhythm, an exchange. And then there is Dhwani. She stands before me like a question I was never prepared to answer. Her silence used to unsettle me. I mistook it for the absence of expression, of connection, of everything I thought a relationship required. I told myself I could never belong in a world where words could not flow freely. But lately... Something feels different. There are emotions in her eyes I cannot ignore. A quiet strength in the way she carries herself. A strange pull that makes me pause, makes me notice, makes me rethink things I was once so certain about. When she looks at me, there is no demand. No accusation. Only something achingly pure. And that unsettles me more than anything else. Because for the first time, I find myself wondering. Was I afraid of her silence... or afraid of what it might awaken in me?

Love is not just spoken, is it? Maybe it's patience. In presence.
In learning someone's unspoken language. And the thought I can no longer escape What if the connection I feared... is the one my heart is slowly choosing? Because if love can exist without words... Then perhaps Dhwani's silence is not a barrier. Perhaps it is where everything truly begins.
